Sports For Development – Basra, Pitching Contest Winners

Yes! They did it!! 💪

Last week, over 40 Iraqi youth pitched their sport business ideas to members of the jury from United World, International Trade Centre (ITC), and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), Iraq.

This pitching contest came as a continuation of the first phase of the #SportsForDevelopment program in partnership with ITC and MoYS, in which over 100 Iraqi youth benefited from intensive training around sports entrepreneurship. This initiative is part of and complements the European Union-funded SAAVI programme’s life skills training of youth on employability and entrepreneurship (Kick for Trade).

And yes, the adventure is not over yet! The winning teams will now benefit from another mentorship program, which will help them execute their project ideas, improve their skills, and grow into successful sport entrepreneurs.
