From 3 to 16 July, around twenty players from all over the world came together for the 2023 edition of the ETOILES Summer Camp, a place where football and culture come together.
High-level trainings:
Daily high-level training sessions were held throughout the camp by Philippe Besset, head coach of ESC. Thanks to his background as a professional player for La Berrichonne de Châteauroux and SM Caen and his former career as a manager for Servette FC, AS Saint-Étienne and Football Bourg-en-Bresse Péronnas 01, Coach Besset was able to give relevant advice to our young players.
Our Head Coach of the Residential Programme – Dominique Bijotat – took part in some of the training sessions in order to fully support these young players.
Language Skills and Cultural Exchange:
At ETOILES Summer Camp, we understand the value of cultural diversity. In order to take advantage of this diversity, we offer our players language courses to enable them to acquire practical skills in French and English. This emphasis on language training fosters an open-minded vision for the players and promotes a deeper understanding and appreciation of different cultures.
Press Conference & Media Training:
We also train our youngsters to deal with the media, which can be a challenge for any athlete. In order to equip our ETOILES Summer Camp players with the necessary skills, we conducted a media training focusing on press conference etiquette. Through playful exercises, we aimed to increase their confidence and communication skills, ensuring that they can give effective answers while maintaining professionalism.
Exploring French Heritage:
Because ESC is also a cultural adventure, our players had the privilege of visiting the magnificent Château de Chambord, a masterpiece of French heritage, during their stay. They also visited the world-famous Beauval Zoo and the renowned monuments of the French capital, Paris.
